This is where the world comes together! That’s true from a culinary perspective, too: The kitchen serves up an exciting blend of “international” and “regional” flavors. You’ve got to try it! 

MC EBEL ONE MAN BLUESBAND
Great blues from Germany—yes, it’s possible! Though the landscape certainly plays a part—the vast prairie of the Lüneburg Heath isn’t exactly suited for pop or metal when you look out the window… but the landscape certainly inspires plenty of blues! Born in Hamburg in 1962, he made the move from the big city to the beautiful town of Handeloh in the heart of the Lüneburg Heath in 2005.

The McEbel One Man Bluesband is a one-man band of a special kind. McEbel plays his drums while sitting—not on his back. On top of that, he sings and plays guitar and harmonica. His repertoire spans the entire spectrum of the blues genre, from Robert Johnson’s country blues to Texas blues à la Stevie Ray Vaughan to Muddy Waters’ Chicago blues, spiced with little forays into the soul of Ray Charles. Yet the songs don’t sound like copies of the originals—that would be presumptuous—but rather like McEbel’s own take: sometimes raw, always full of emotion. His sound fills the room like a full band, and McEbel knows how to entertain the audience with little stories as well. 

His first CD was released in 2019; McEbel titled it “May I Introduce Myself,” and it features six covers of songs by other artists as well as three original compositions.
“May I Introduce Myself” (his dog selflessly introduces himself musically), “Don’t Waste My Time” is an instrumental guitar boogie, and “Stolen Car Blues” tells the true story of a musician’s stolen car… which, however, had a happy ending! The car was returned, but everything inside was gone—except for the shoes (which he still cherishes and wears to this day!)  

McEbel One Man Blues Band CD No. 2 – Blues, Sweat & Beers 

Recorded live, without any overdubs, in the barn of an old farmhouse. Vocals, blues harp, guitar, foot percussion—all at the same time—just as you’d expect from McEbel. For the song selection, he’s put together a mix of interpretations of more or less well-known tracks and his own compositions. From personal slow blues to party anthems—it might not have everything, but it has plenty. Emotions included! In the song “INFECTED,” for example, McEbel talks about his passion for the blues, which was first sparked in the early ’80s—particularly by Stevie Ray Vaughan—and then solidified a few years later by B.B. King. That passion continues unabated to this day. Let’s have a blues party!

Since 2026, we’ve been offering you a special opportunity to do just that every fourth Friday of the month: at “Schirrmann’s Weserblick & Musik.”
You can look forward not only to à la carte delicacies, our varied buffet, coffee specialties, tea, and pastries with a view of the Weser, but also live music from musicians from Bremen and the surrounding area, performing from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the rooftop terrace!
