Schirrmann´s Weserblick & Musik mit TRIPLEPACK

Noch niemand hat sich das Event gemerkt.

In the organizer's words:

Schirrmann’s Weserblick & Music
Have you heard of Schirrmann’s yet? You’ll find this extraordinary Bremen restaurant at the Bremen Youth Hostel—in a prime location on the Weser River and right in the heart of the city. This is where the world comes together! That goes for the food, too: The kitchen serves up an exciting blend of “international” and “regional” flavors. You’ve got to try it!

Triple Pack
3,000 volts of bass, piano, and drums

Musicians are usually creative—and a little bit crazy. But the guys from Triplepack are that in every sense: They simply stop at nothing. Their music features a classic lineup. Ralf Bartels plays the drums with brushes and sings backing vocals; Ralf Marckardt plays the double bass until his fingers are raw and accompanies the vocals; and at the piano, Matthias Monka—Van Morrison-style—gets the crowd fired up. These three gentlemen, dressed in dark attire, play hot American bar music (which is why they always wear sunglasses to protect themselves from sunburn). Triplepack clearly demonstrate that their music gets your feet moving and that every song can be given a swing twist: Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” or the Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” are skillfully and professionally reimagined in a swing style.

These reinterpretations lose none of their originality. When you listen to their demo CD “Swingend erforderlich,” you get a sense that a concentrated dose of fun and good vibes is coming your way. When you see the guys from Triplepack perform live, you’ll be completely swept up by their energy and forget all about the stress of everyday life. Triplepack’s repertoire includes songs from the good old days—namely the 1920s—and ranges from modern hits of the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s to laid-back numbers with an intimate bar vibe, all the way to top-notch tracks that’ll have you dancing like crazy.

Band Members
Matthias Monka
Singer, pianist, composer, and lyricist. He’s been a fixture on the Bremen music scene for years. He wrote the German lyrics for Disney’s *The Bear Brothers* in collaboration with producer Leslie Mandoki (formerly of Dschingis Khan), sang on the soundtrack of the same name alongside Phil Collins, and has plenty of other skeletons in his closet! The Triplepack “Proloröhre” can make even the sturdiest piano break down—he sometimes plays it with his foot, after all.

Ralf Marckardt
Gained experience in rock and cover bands. He joined the group—the third member—with his black hair, after Ralf Bartels and Matthias Monka had already played a few concerts as a duo under the name “Just Two Men.” “Something was still missing!” he thought, and has been playing the low notes in the band ever since. But that wasn’t enough—it had to be a double bass. So he jumped into the cold waters of double bass playing without realizing that you also need a suitable vehicle for it… now he’s got gray hair!

Ralf Bartels
He drummed for years in well-known Bremen rock bands. Since 1998, he’s been playing the “brush drum set” that’s so typical of Triplepack. It was also his idea to swing modern songs with a minimal lineup, and he’s the brainchild behind the band name TRIPLEPACK. He’s basically the Darth Vader of the TRIPLEPACK Starfleet, and as the youngest band member, all he has to do now is figure out whose father he is… kcchhh!?!?! This guy can polish even the roughest of skins to a shine!

Since 2026, we’ve been offering you a special opportunity to experience this every fourth Friday of the month (May through September) at “Schirrmann’s Weserblick & Musik.”
You can look forward not only to à la carte delicacies, our varied buffet, coffee specialties, tea, and pastries with a view of the Weser, but also live music from musicians from Bremen and the surrounding area, performing from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the rooftop terrace! We look forward to seeing you! Free admission.

Musicians wishing to perform (please submit comprehensive and complete applications—no “Hey, I’d like to play sometime”) should email info@emotional.zone

Schirrmann’s Weserblick & Music at the Schlachte on the roof of the Bremen Youth Hostel is presented by our agency partners Musicconnectsall and Emotional.Zone, the event platform Rausgegangen Bremen, and if you’re interested in great music and the stories behind the musicians, then check out cafe-schwarz.tv—that’s where musicians can showcase themselves through interviews and six live performances!
