Save the date!
The next Heiter Open Air will be very special.
The three Max Planck Institutes in Leipzig and the science streets project invite you to an open-air festival on September 5, 2026. The Open Air event will bring together science, art, and music at Heiter bis Wolkig, a central socio-cultural hub in western Leipzig.
All the science comics from the science streets street campaign will be showcased exclusively. On site, the participating research teams and illustrators will invite the audience to engage in direct dialogue about neuroscience and the medicine of the future. An improvisational theater troupe will interpret the comic stories live, creating a creative, intuitive way to approach complex topics.
Original contributions from the Max Planck Institutes for Cognitive and Neurosciences, for Mathematics in the Natural Sciences, and for Evolutionary Anthropology round out the diverse program. The festival offers all interested visitors an inspiring, accessible glimpse into Leipzig’s cutting-edge research.
