shimmer & death

shimmer & death explores the connection between life and death in nature as an aesthetic element. The performance takes the audience into a world of extinct and imaginary creatures as well as landscapes of the past and future. From a holistic perspective, it attempts to understand the multiple interrelationships within our damaged planet and proposes a view that goes beyond the human ego. It is an invitation to heal our wounded relationship with nature.

The piece offers a poetic reflection on the relationship between the living and the deceased and opens up new horizons for understanding ecosystems. The unique beauty of each life form - past, present or future - is celebrated through the dancers' movements, expanding our view beyond individual existence.

The piece reminds us that we are not only part of a larger ecosystem intellectually, but also on a sensory level. By physically experiencing nature, we can develop a deeper understanding of its need for protection.
