When Erich Honecker, Barbara Brecht-Schall and Werner Hecht opened the Brecht House on February 9, 1978, the Brecht Center, Brecht Archive, museum, bookshop, cellar restaurant and office of the Brecht heirs became a globally unique ensemble. Erdmut Wizisla, who worked in this building next to the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof cemetery for almost the entire time, takes a look at the small empire on the occasion of his retirement as director of the Bertolt Brecht Archive. Not just a look back.
