In the organizer's words:

SPIELARTEN: The Children's and Youth Theater Festival in North Rhine-Westphalia

Silent Calling
For everyone ages 12 and up

Theater Marabu from Bonn

Sun, Oct. 11, 2026, 5:00 p.m.
Duration: approx. 60 min.

Driving techno and hip-hop beats intertwine with motifs from Beethoven’s Great Fugue (Op. 133) to create an urban soundscape. Within this soundscape, three dancers use dance styles from hip-hop culture and contact improvisation to create moments that evoke deeply contradictory emotions. Moments of connection are followed by moments of separation and isolation. Moments of closeness give way to moments of distance. The audience is invited to actively participate, to engage with one another, and to be present.

*Silent Calling* is a participatory performance about the silent cry for connection in a noisy world.

A co-production with Beethovenfest Bonn and Theater Bonn

SPIELARTEN
Once again this year, the Theater in der Meerwiese is participating as a venue in the NRW-wide SPIELARTEN festival for young audiences with a selection of productions. The festival guarantees exciting and inspiring theater experiences for everyone ages two and up. It showcases the diversity and high artistic quality of the contemporary independent theater scene in North Rhine-Westphalia. A total of six productions for daycare centers, schools, and families will be presented at the Meerwiese. Theater reveals worlds, tells stories, conveys emotions, and poses questions. The artists always keep young audiences at the center of their work. But adults shouldn’t be surprised if they find themselves captivated as well. Let yourself be surprised!
