Who am I? Who are we? And what do we have in common—or not? These questions occupy us throughout our lives—and so they do for the two performers on stage, who invent things together, learn from one another, and argue with each other—and then discover how quickly an ordinary object can be transformed into something alive: A lump of clay is shaped into a face, to which they lend their voices and hands. Two performers quickly become three, then four, and then many more—until the audience itself is invited to shape, build, and explore alongside them.

SPIELARTEN
Once again this year, the Theater in der Meerwiese is participating as a venue in the NRW-wide SPIELARTEN festival for young audiences with a selection of productions. The festival guarantees exciting and inspiring theater experiences for everyone aged two and up. It showcases the diversity and high artistic quality of the contemporary independent theater scene in North Rhine-Westphalia. A total of six productions for daycare centers, schools, and families will be presented at the Meerwiese. Theater reveals worlds, tells stories, conveys emotions, and poses questions. The artists always keep the young audience at the center of their work. But adults shouldn’t be surprised if they find themselves captivated as well. Let yourself be surprised!
