Jazz, Bernstein and Gershwin - a New Year's Eve full of rhythm, wit and poetry
Jazz and lively strings, Gershwin songs and even a cool fugue by Lenny Bernstein - these are some of the musical ingredients with which the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne invites you to its New Year's Eve concert! Conductor Juya Shin will be on the podium. And don't miss the performance by the wonderful soprano Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha!
The best entertainment is guaranteed with the selected works with which the English and American composers have written music theater history. Thomas Adès scored a worldwide hit with his first opera "Powder Her Face". William Walton combined dry wit and glorious pathos for his burlesque "Façade". And the coups by Leonard Bernstein ("West Side Story") and George Gershwin ("Porgy and Bess") are also full of musical life! The year 2026, it can come!
