The garage rock band Sons is coming to Munich for a concert!

Brutal garage punk from Belgium! The band Sons is bringing it to us in Germany on June 20. Put the four members in a room together, give them guitar, bass and drumsticks and the result is a tough punk rock arrangement that is still accompanied by the same youthful DIY style as the very first single in 2019, even after more than five years of band existence. The furious debut album "Family Dinner", which was released in the same year, also impresses with psychedelic influences and gradually establishes the quartet as European rock stars on the rise.

According to Sons, the lyrics are usually added later in the creation process, which does not mean that the band attach less importance to songwriting, on the contrary. The current album "Sweet Boy" from 2022 is a classic coming-of-age record about the four Belgians growing up, including its ups and downs. Unfortunately, the latter includes the track "L.O.V.E", in which Sons process a terrible experience in their home country - with angry, overlapping guitars and driving drums. Every now and then, singer Robin Borghgraef's raspy vocals even stray into screaming, which means that the band's sound also has elements of metal in some places. Others, however, are tamer and more indie-rock, such as the melodic "Momentary Bliss", whose cover is adorned with a mighty snake. This has established itself as a symbol of the band in the context of "Sweet Boy" - the title of which is highly ironic, by the way - and appears on social media as well as on various artworks. With their mature yet raw sound, the group exudes the perfect garage band atmosphere that surrounds Sons on every release and makes the band sound like genre greats such as Green Day or the Idles in places. So it's no wonder that the Belgians' music is made for the live stage and can really unfold in front of a raging crowd and plenty of sweat in the air.
