📅 On Friday, September 4, 2026, the vaulted cellar of the Kölner Weinkeller will become a gathering place for anyone who wants to experience wine with a completely open mind.

🕒 From 3:00 to 5:30 p.m., we’ll venture into new territory with a stand-up tasting focused on Burgundy wines. Unlike usual, the wines’ origin, price, and labels will remain hidden. That’s precisely what makes a blind tasting so special.

Without visual cues and without prior knowledge of grape variety or prestige, your sense of taste begins to work more finely. What is otherwise often shaped by expectations—the best example being a famous name—takes a back seat. Instead, aroma, structure, and balance take center stage.

🍇 Our blind tasting is also about exploring different flavor nuances, discovering something new—and letting yourself be surprised. In the Burgundy blind tasting, classic grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris are tasted, as well as Pinot Noir and Frühburgunder. As tasting notes, you can jot down observations about the flavor profile and compare them with our wine consultants. It’s not uncommon for the reveal of the wines to lead to moments of surprise and laughter. A wonderful experience for all wine lovers.
