STAR WARS in Concert - Eine neue Hoffnung

“Once upon a time, long ago in a galaxy far, far away…” For decades, the greatest science fiction saga in film history has captivated millions of fans of all generations worldwide, not least thanks to John Williams’ film score, which ranks among the most successful soundtracks in cinema history.

In “STAR WARS: A New Hope,” following the destruction of the Jedi Knights, the galaxy is under the cruel rule of the Empire. Only a group of rebels, led by Princess Leia, manages to steal the plans for the Death Star and throw the Empire into turmoil. The plans find their way to the old Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who, along with his apprentice Luke Skywalker and the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, takes up the fight against the Empire. A life-or-death adventure begins, as Darth Vader is hot on their trail, determined to prevent the destruction of the Death Star.

The STAR WARS saga, meticulously crafted by George Lucas down to the last detail, revolutionized the Hollywood film landscape and has lost none of its fascination to this day. With its mythical story, captivating characters, and groundbreaking special effects, the Star Wars saga has become an icon of American culture. The Dresden Philharmonic will perform John Williams’ Oscar-, Golden Globe-, and Grammy-winning music at the Kulturpalast, while the entire film is shown simultaneously on a giant screen. These concerts are dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the science fiction classic, which will be celebrated worldwide in 2027 and will give the film a special additional tribute.
