Stefanie Sargnagel

Stefanie Sargnagel, born in 1986, studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, but spent more time at her day job at a call center. She has been a freelance writer since 2016—and has been spending more time with her tax advisor ever since. That same year, she was awarded the Audience Prize at the Bachmann Competition, with further awards to follow. Her books *Statusmeldungen*, *Dicht*, *Iowa*, and *Opernball* were bestsellers.
