Object theater and juggling, amazingly funny.
Darragh McLoughlin [IRL]
A man balances a long, thin stick. Comments light up on a screen in the background: What you see on stage. What the stick does, what the man does. The audience begins to ponder: Is what they are reading also what they are seeing? What exactly is the man doing with the stick - and the stick with the man?
The juggler and performer Darragh McLoughlin makes the object his co-player and is connected to it in a strangely natural way. Or so one would think. Until a comment from offstage addresses the audience directly. With extreme care in movement and laconic humor, the artist makes the audience look very closely and very differently.
An intimate and astonishing performance that questions our perception and our freedom of will. Are we still able to make decisions about the world around us or are we simply driven by a mass of information?
