In the organizer's words:

When Voices Become Instruments

The vocal spectacle “Stimmflut” returns, proving once again that the human voice is the most powerful tool in the history of music. Three ensembles take the stage to
a symphony.

The Freiburg-based group“anders”breaks with the cliché of the classical a cappella ensemble. They see themselves as “German poets” and write clever pop songs that take the performance form seriously—a far cry from nostalgic tunes or mere chart covers.

With“vocaldente,”an ensemble takes the stage that is considered “Germany’s most successful a cappella export.” The five singers craft their sound—from the charm of the 1920s to modern
radio pop—purely acoustically and using classical techniques, entirely without technical effects or amplifiers. Diversity is at the heart of this vocal feast. Joining the clever lyrics of “anders” and the purely acoustic brilliance of vocaldente is a third,as-yet-secret guest. This collaboration will round out the lineup and provide the final goosebump-inducing moment when all the artists perform the finale together.
