Streitkultur in der postmigrantischen Gesellschaft

The Düsseldorf Municipal Integration Center cordially invites you to the conference “The Culture of Debate in a Post-Migrant Society.”

What defines a post-migrant society? Why is it important for social discourse and processes to be open to the perspectives of “the others”? What role does the culture of debate play in a democratic society?

In conversation withProfessor Naika Foroutan (Professor of Integration Research and Social Policy at Humboldt University in Berlin, Director of the German Center for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM)), we will explore these and other questions related to the culture of debate and immigrant societies and discuss them together.

Afterward, there will be an opportunity to attend one of the workshops that provide practical knowledge on fostering a constructive culture of debate:

• Tolerance of Ambiguity – Experiences, Insights, and Methods from the MITEINANDER REDEN Project 
   
• Dealing Confidently with Discriminatory Statements – Strategies for a Respectful Culture of Debate
