The Tangorra Orquesta Atipica was born in the pulsating world of tango, where tradition meets modernity. Since its foundation more than a decade ago, the orchestra has been constantly searching for a combination of tradition and the new.

The story of Tangorra began in 2010, when Mikele Borra inherited an old bandoneon from his grandfather, which fascinated him, a trained pianist. It awakened in him and his cousin Fran Borra, who was a guitarist and music producer, the desire to tell their story through music.

This creative impulse led to the release of their first album "Ecos del Sur" in 2013, which captures the spirit of a kaleidoscopic Buenos Aires, oscillating between the past and modernity. Tangorra developed an independent, urban style of music that, technically speaking, is essentially linked to the use of a sound computer and can be classified as electrotango.

In 2015, pianist and arranger Alan Puyol and singer Paula Maciel joined the group, marking the beginning of a new creative chapter that would culminate in the release of "Tangópolis" in 2017.

In 2018, the orchestra launched the "Europolis Tour" and brought its music to various stages in Europe. This consolidated the international presence of Orquestas Atipica.

In 2019, Cecilia Giles and Laura Vigoya Arango joined the orchestra. They took the place of Puyol and Maciel and enriched the orchestra with new sounds and energy. Their "Bailando" tour took the orchestra all over Europe.

The effects of the pandemic in 2020 did not stop Tangorra; rather, they dedicated themselves to creating their third studio album "Soltar". In 2022, they released several remixes and singles from "Soltar". The new album "Música por Favor" (2023) shows a return to acoustics, away from the electronic sound. The album features various guest singers.

Tangorra is one of the founders and organizers of the Electrotango Festival in Buenos Aires. This festival has considerably stabilized the "subgenre" electrotango and has revived and established it as part of modern tango for several years.
