SWE SPECIAL Open Air | 13. Lange Nacht des Klezmer

In the organizer's words:

Since 2012, the Long Night of Klezmer Erfurt has been transforming the city into a playing field for Yiddish music: regional and national ensembles deliver a firework display of klezmer sounds in one evening.

The highlight of the night is the joint performance of all the ensembles with the musicians of the Klezmer Jam Band. In five workshops, the enthusiastic band under the direction of Klaus Wegener (clarinet) & The String Company has worked intensively on the repertoire of the individual ensembles and rehearsed several pieces - ready for the big final concert.

On June 27, 2026 from 6.30 pm on the open-air summer stage of the Kultur: Haus Dacheröden: Herje Mine (Leipzig), Helmut Eisel (Saarbrücken) & The String Company (Erfurt) bring Klezmer to the stage as a universal world music language with heart and diverse dialects.

This concert will set a musical example - for remembrance, diversity, democratic coexistence and the unifying power of music.

The bar in the courtyard is open and awaits guests with cool drinks.

The event is part of the "Books from the Fire" series, in which various program items take place at different locations.
