Ukulele workshop with Charlotte Pelgen on June 06, 2024 at &wieder. A space for art (Cologne-Nippes)Swing your ukulele
The 20s are back and remind us of the golden age in which the ukulele experienced its first 'boom' and whose songs were tailor-made for the ukulele. We will take one of these old songs and look at how to approach a swing arrangement. We will work on techniques for left and right hand directly from the 1920s and get to know simple means with which we can give our piece both tension and lightness. The course is aimed at anyone who is familiar with the most common chords.Charlotte Pelgen has been performing internationally since 2017 with the Bad Mouse Orchestra, among others, and has made a name for herself in the European ukulele scene with swing from the 1920s and 30s. She has been teaching ukulele for over 10 years and specializes in the playing techniques of the early 20th century.when? 06 June 2024, 6-8 pm
