Teresa Reichl - Grober Unfug

When she was in school, Teresa Reichl had just one dream: to get a disciplinary note—and for serious mischief, no less. But none of her lies went far enough, and none of her paper airplanes hit the mark. Her mischief was simply never wild enough. But today, the winner of the German Cabaret Award has a stage all to herself, the whole evening to spare, and is totally up for finally going all out

This show is too much, too wild, and too elaborate. Too queer, too fat, and too loud. It’s too sharp and too nice, too specific
and too universal. In other words, it’s everything that defines Teresa Reichl. And then we’ll see just how wild things can get!

Teresa Reichl was born in 1996 in Haunersdorf near Simbach, near Landau an der Isar (yes, the village is that small). She studied
Regensburg, where she studied to become a high school teacher of German and English. With her degree in hand, she
didn’t end up making the classroom her stage after all, but instead launched her career as a live performer. Since then,
across the comedy and cabaret stages of the German-speaking world, racking up awards and making classic German literature accessible through comedy and social media.
Since 2020, she has been summarizing works by major German authors for her audience on TikTok, proposing an alternative literary canon in her book *Muss ich das gelesen haben* (“Do I Have to Read This?”), and advocating for the democratization of
discourse on high culture. She does this, among other things, by taking the liberty of using highly esteemed figures of German culture
into the subject matter of her stage shows, TikTok videos, or podcast conversations using colloquial language.
Teresa Reichl talks about feminism; she explores facets of outsiderhood and shows ways to break free from stereotypical thinking. And although it might be off-putting that she considers anger the fuel for her content, her approach is always:
