Their debut "Permission To Land" (2003) immediately climbed the British charts and reached platinum status. The first single "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" foreshadowed the enormous success of the band's debut album. Firmly believing that rock n roll has to be loud, The Darkness, from the beginning of their career, did not care about what the world demanded musically, but rather what they thought it needed: blistering guitar rock and a shrieking voice that gave the band an untouchable recognition value.Their wild live shows in the early 2000s created a fanatical fan base, and at the same time The Darkness celebrated the peak of their career, exuberantly and in typical rock fashion.
