Thomas Steierer, author and winner of the Großer Scharfrichterbeil for his cabaret program "Der urbane Dorfdepp", reads excerpts from his novel in rough version IMMER WEITER (working title), which will also be the basis for future stage activities.

It is about ambivalence in complex times, the Gordian knot between Oliver Kahn's meaningful perseverance mantra "Always on", hope and kicks on the one hand, and hamster wheel stagnation, the fact that the last 40 years have passed at breakneck speed, the fast pace of life determines the zeitgeist, the beautiful moments are very fleeting and nothing really changes for the better in the long term on the other.

Thomas Steierer's tragicomic text deals with questions that come to the fore at the latest after about 40 years of life, at midlife, such as: How have things gone so far, how do you move on, what highlights does life have in store for you in the future, when will the hits come even closer? Fears and traumas are discussed, feelings of happiness and dreams, everyday life between structure and routines as well as adversities, flashbacks and upheavals. Presenter and literary critic Günter Keil usually talks to writers such as T.C Boyle and Judith Hermann about their new bestsellers. This evening's discussion with Thomas Steierer will also focus on why people start writing a novel, the writing process and the difficulties associated with it. At the end there will be a look ahead.
