Director: SASABE Kiyoshi
2014, 104 minutes, OmeU
In the summery atmosphere of the traditional lantern festival in Kagoshima, this light-hearted drama tells the story of three sisters who are fighting for the survival of their family-run confectionery store and also have to resolve a number of conflicts in their private lives.
The traditional confectionery shop Toraya suffers from competition from local supermarkets and is run by a family whose members all have relationship problems. The parents are divorced, but continue to work together and receive support from their three daughters: the eldest is divorced, the middle daughter wants to be, even if her husband doesn't want to accept it, and the youngest has broken off her engagement. But shared worries are easier to bear and there may even be a solution in sight to save the family business.
