Try 6 different sakes from the Toshimaya brewery in Tokyo together with small fermented food bites.
Yes, Tokyo itself has a few sake breweries to offer and one of the most exciting is Toshimaya Shuzo from Higashi Murayama, which is also the oldest brewery in Tokyo.
In addition to its traditional line, Toshimaya Shuzo brews modern fresh sake and is known beyond the borders of Tokyo Prefecture for its lavish parties on the brewery premises.
That evening, we taste 6 exceptionally unpasteurized (nama) sakes (including a sparkling sake) and 1 pasteurized, well-aged sake. There will also be small snacks (Otsumami) from Japan's fermentation cuisine.
And of course a short lecture on sake and how to taste and evaluate sake by the Munich sake experts Kai (WSET Level 3 Award in Sake, Advanced Sake Professional (ASP), Sake Scholar (SSC), Fellow Japan Sake & Shochu Academy 2022), Jeanne (Certified Sake Professional (CSP)) and Kenta.
Finally, we have a few bottles of each sake in our luggage for those who still want some of the rare sake from Tokyo that is not yet available in this country.
