After nearly two years of radio silence, TRÄNEN are returning with their second album, "Leben in einer Katze," which will kick off their "Die Erde ist mein Traum" Tour 2027 next February. Tickets will be available on Thursday, June 18, 2026, starting at 11:59 p.m. at traenen-shop.com.

Gwen Dolyn and Steffen Israel announce an album that sounds bigger, poppier, more radical, and more vulnerable than anything the band has done before. “Leben in einer Katze” will be released on October 30, 2026, via Eklat Tonträger / Warner and is an album about belonging, longing, anger, and love—told from the perspective of an alien being, visitors from other planets, and people who don’t feel at home on Earth. But it’s not just escapism. The alien perspective sharpens our view of reality.

In this album’s world, there’s humor, irony, talking cats, fields at night, old flying objects, whipping barbed wire, and sweaty butts. At the same time, the album openly explores love, shame, desire, anger, physicality, loneliness, justice, and a world where one is allowed to stay—and actually wants to.

"Leben in einer Katze" is a rejection of contemporary pop that claims vulnerability but rarely takes any risks. TRÄNENaren’t interestedin feelings that are defused before they can become intense—and thus dangerous. Their songs seek intimacy without sugarcoating things. They ask big questions without immediately defusing them with irony. And then there’s loud laughter.
