With his album "Insomnia" Trettmann made a remarkable comeback at the beginning of 2023. This was followed by a sold-out tour at the beginning of the year and an outstanding summer of festivals. In 2024 it's time for the Leipzig native to write a new chapter and it starts where he feels most comfortable: on stage! With "NO MORE SORROW" Trettmann heralds a new era with a new live show and new music to look forward to in winter!

Trettmann grew up in the Fritz-Heckert-Siedlung in what is now Chemnitz. In the past, the settlement was the largest new housing area in the GDR by far: a place that stood for progress and prosperity, which was supposed to offer its residents social status and comfort. Even as a child, he was able to listen to the latest R'n'B and disco hits on West German radio because of the Heckert area's favorable elevation; later, rap and breakdancing inspired him. In the early nineties, reggae and dancehall from Jamaica were added. Trettmann was a teenager when the Wall fell. With the fall of the Wall, his surroundings changed. His settlement degenerated into a social hotspot, friends and acquaintances fell away around him. Amidst the changing times, he discovered music as his personal escape. He began hosting parties, moved to Leipzig to start his own sound system, and eventually sang in German. But despite the scene hype, the breakthrough wouldn't come.

2017 became his personal turning point year. With the release of his second album #DIY, Trettmann achieved his big breakthrough. #DIY became a modern classic that crossed genre boundaries by combining dancehall, trap and grime elements. This unique style makes Trettmann one of Germany's most sought-after artists to this day.

His album "Trettmann," released in 2019, shot straight to #2 on the German charts. After the Corona break and a sabbatical of three years in total, Trettmann returned in 2023 with his album "Insomnia", which at the same time closes the common era with KitschKrieg. In the album Trettmann processes the separation to his longtime life partner. It is about the end of a love, about sorrow and pain, but also about new beginnings.
