For one weekend, Import Export becomes a meeting place for music, movement, and transatlantic sonic culture.

Inspired by the Picó traditions of Colombia’s Caribbean coast and the diverse soundsystem cultures of the Atlantic, Tropiko Atlantiko explores the sonic connections between Latin America, the Caribbean, West Africa, and Europe. Rather than presenting genres as isolated identities, the festival traces the connections between cumbia, forró, baile funk, reggaetón, dembow, bouyon, dancehall, jungle, dub, champeta, soukous, and contemporary bass music, revealing the shared histories, rhythmic continuities, and collective energy that bind them together.

Over two days and one night, live performances, DJs, and a stage inspired by the visual language of Caribbean Picó culture transform Import Export into a space where carnival meets club culture, street traditions encounter electronic experimentation, and dance floors become places of cultural exchange.

Alongside the music, an artisan market, food, and drinks invite visitors to spend the day together beyond the dance floor, creating space for encounters, exchange, and community throughout the weekend.

Rather than celebrating fixed categories such as “Latin, ” “Dub, ” or “World Music,” Tropiko Atlantiko embraces movement, dialogue, and transformation, reflecting the ways music continues to travel, transform, and create new connections across the Atlantic.
