TROTZDEM is a concert series dedicated to jazz, improvisation, and experimental music. The focus is on formats that unfold a quiet, atmospheric intensity and create an intimate space. For each evening, two to three live acts are invited to perform in the space in different ways—not just facing the audience from the stage, but from various perspectives and in shifting configurations. This gives rise to new listening experiences that blend elements of a listening session, a concert, and a shared immersion. “Trotzdem” invites you to consciously engage with disorientation, friction, and new perspectives.

[EN] LEYA, the avant-pop duo of harpist Marilu Donovan and vocalist/violinist Adam Markiewicz, have defied expectations throughout their career, achieving a singular, legendary status for their unmistakably beautiful and unsettling work. Through two studio albums, two EPs, a mixtape, a porn film, and a flurry of collaborations, they have explored nearly every genre of contemporary music. The duo’s long list of collaborators includes Eartheater, Actress, Ecco2K, Brooke Candy (via PornHub), Sega Bodega, Varg2TM, claire rousay, Okay Kaya, and many more.

Violeta García & Hora Lunga

[EN] “I’ll Wait For You In The Car Park,” the first full-length collaboration between Argentine cellist, improviser, and composer Violeta García and Swiss musician and composer Hora Lunga, is a work of extremes. Drawing on the realities of life across two continents and embodying moods ranging from stoic desire to violent outbursts, the album transforms so-called ordinary moments from everyday life into an alluring collection of musical scenes. Seemingly inconspicuous moments are condensed into a tale of synchronicity: colliding time zones and seasons, metropolitan rhythms raining down onto a glacier’s ice field, exploring places through Street View, the serendipity of loitering at a kiosk. As such, “I’ll Wait For You In The Car Park” brings to mind documentary film essays that carefully observe private and everyday occurrences.

Violeta García and Hora Lunga crossed paths by chance in 2023 and began discussing and sharing music shortly thereafter. What started as a casual exchange of ideas—sending sketches and demos back and forth between South America and Europe—grew into several studio sessions in 2024. Caught up in a “quite extraordinary flow,” the two musicians recorded, arranged, and collaborated on an equal footing, using the studio as a playground to lay down musical layers and interweave them with field recordings and audio notes gathered over the course of a year. Speaking a kindred musical language, they quickly realized how their ideas clung to each other like two familiar souls, complementing, intertwining, and merging.

From gauzy and eerie textures, musical miniatures floating through time, howling and screaming strings, to tumbling and thundering basses—the sound of the ordinary shapes a body that vibrates, writhes, and breathes.

PILLBERT

[DE] PILLBERT is the project of singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Lilian Mikorey. Lilian works across disciplines with music, video, and performance. In 2025, she earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Goldsmiths, University of London, majoring in “Popular Music.” In 2026, she also released her debut album, *Memoria*, on the Munich-based label “Squama.” PILLBERT creates a dreamlike world in which mythical creatures and mysterious colors roam through ever-changing soundscapes, enveloped by her gentle voice and a quiet emotional clarity. Inspired by outsider music, ambient soundscapes, and vintage pop, she relies on DIY production and frequently incorporates field recordings to further expand her delicate soundscape.
