True Lies - Truth(s) in the archive?! Symposium with subsequent finissage Life after Microsoft

Archives are institutions that preserve culture. They collect and preserve tangible and intangible cultural heritage, while at the same time making gaps and voids visible. What is truth in the archive - and what remains of it in the digital age? Between document and manipulation, storage and control, certainties begin to waver. The symposium deals with the archive as a contested space of memory, interpretation and power - between art, science and the algorithmic present.
