Create your own little rug.

Under expert guidance and in a cozy setting, you’ll tuft your own unique rug (max. 40x40 cm).

Tuft a square, rectangle, freeform shape, or circle—perfect for hanging on the wall or as a chair cushion with a diameter of up to 40 cm. After a technical introduction to the tufting machine, its operation, materials, and yarns, you’ll be ready to get started. During the workshop, we’ll not only tuft but also trim the pile right away. We’ll be tufting with genuine New Zealand wool. It’s more durable than acrylic, trims better, and doesn’t produce microplastics.

At the end, your rug will be glued together, fitted with a felt backing, and, if you choose, equipped with hooks for hanging. You also have the option to have the square framed at the end. (I charge an additional flat fee of 30€ for the frame.) After the workshop, you can take your rug home right away.

Your design may have a maximum of 5 colors. You can choose from a color palette of up to 15 yarn colors for your design. I’ll send you all the design guidelines, styling tips, and the color palette after you book. If you have any further questions, please let me know. I also always have design templates from my archive to choose from.

Please email me your rug design at sarah@studioki.de no later than 3 days before the workshop. I’ll provide feedback on the feasibility and execution of your design, set up the tufting frames, and transfer your design onto the fabric in advance so you can get started right away.

All materials, drinks, and snacks are included in the price.

If you’d like to take your rug home, please bring an additional 30€ in cash.
