Seven biographies, one profession.
Here, stage painters show who they are away from the boards that mean the world.

In ordinary life, we earn our daily bread with predominantly artistic work, as our contract so beautifully puts it. As a small cog in the gears of high culture, we ultimately create numerous backdrops for the stages and screens of this city. Our craft? Creating illusions and building worlds. Forty hours a week, we realize the ideas of other creative minds by collectively imitating while remaining invisible ourselves. But our love of art and painting once brought us all here. But the fact that we are now kissed by our own muse and wield our brushes on the side? Rather a rarity. We are tired. Finished. From fulfilling the wishes of others. But there is this little creative flame inside us that lies dormant until it gets oxygen and flares up again.

Once the space is found, the thoughts come and with them the creative development. Here we have found the opportunity to develop a language that not only incorporates our classical craft, but also our individual confrontation and our own biography, which is the only way to make it comprehensible. In ÜKT! we show realized ideas and initiated processes that occupy us outside the world of the stage. We show what drives us personally. What we do when the children are looked after, the cat is fed and the rent is paid. When there are no work instructions, just the desire. Getting in touch with you gives us the motivation to grow and step into the spotlight. Seven voices have become visible, look at them, enjoy the dancing of their flames and warm yourselves with them. For a short time only.
