A concert for all U30s! As a child, Kyohei Sorita dreamed of playing with a large orchestra and being enveloped in sound. He has since fulfilled this dream many times over. In 2021, he was the discovery of the International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, where he played his way into the hearts of the audience. He made a brilliant debut with the Munich Philharmonic in 2023 with Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto and is now returning to the Isarphilharmonie with its sister work. Completely detached from Earth: in his composition "The Planets", Gustav Holst ventures into the infinite vastness of space. In each movement, he focuses on one of the planets in our solar system and illustrates the mythological characteristics of the celestial body with great orchestral effect. The Spanish conductor Gustav Gimeno leads the choir and orchestra of the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra on this brilliant journey through the cosmos. Following the university concert, the evening continues with "MPHIL Late". A surprise awaits the young audience in the foyer of the Isarphilharmonie, Hall E. Books and laptops closed and off to the concert!
