Theater RambaZamba: WOZZECK

21 downbeat, the house band of the RambaZamba Theater Berlin, reworks Alban Berg's orchestral scraps, melody fragments and libretto snippets in their pop opera and whips Wozzeck, played by puppeteer Hannah Elischer, across the stage into the open knife of his personal catastrophe. A scenic punk concert with professional performers and musicians with and without disabilities. Alban Berg drew inspiration for his opera "Wozzeck" from Georg Büchner's drama fragment about the simple soldier Woyzeck. As Woyzeck's pay is not enough to support his lover Marie and their illegitimate child, he serves his harassing captain and makes himself available to an unscrupulous doctor for experiments. When he finds out about Marie's secret affair, his world is thrown off kilter. Hardship, fear and humiliation lead to a state of emergency...
