What would the Rhine panorama be without crane houses? We immerse ourselves in the days of the trading port with its swing bridge, customs warehouses and grain silos as well as the promenade between today's marina and office towers. There is no doubt that the charm of the elongated harbor district lies in the exciting juxtaposition of listed buildings and contemporary architecture with a maritime flair.

It is not only Europe's longest underground parking garage - a huge concrete submarine that stands in the groundwater when the Rhine level is high - that connects all the buildings with around 700 apartments and 2,500 workplaces.

Our walk along the central boulevard, the riverbank and the harbor basin ends at the "Siebengebirge" at the level of the Ubierring.
