In the organizer's words:
Today, there are still numerous relics throughout the city that remind us of air raid protection during the Second World War. These are not only the large bunkers and shelters, but also the signs on the wall: arrows and indications of former air-raid shelters, the various emergency exits of e.g. "Mannesmann Luftschutz" and "Mauser", as well as splinter protection walls and other relics.
We walk through the city and explain these silent witnesses to history. What began as a small research project and was accompanied by a book publication (Robert Schwienbacher: LSR - Luftschutz-Relikte des Zweiten Weltkrieges im Kölner Stadtgebiet) with over 440 relics is intended to show the people of Cologne that no one can or should overlook the horrors of war. Finally, we descend into the tube bunker.
