At the beginning of November, voters in all US states will have the opportunity to cast their vote on the policies of President Trump and his administration. In the midterm elections, the entire House of Representatives and a third of the Senate will be re-elected. Very low approval ratings are currently being measured for the President. Will the Republicans lose their majority in the House of Representatives and perhaps even the Senate, and what did that mean for the President and his policies?

Martin Biesel, head of the Washington office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, experiences and analyzes political developments in the USA at close quarters. Among other things, he will talk about which issues are at the center of the election campaign and what possible election outcomes could mean for the USA itself, but also for Germany and the global order.
