Dora Gamas (Agnes Scheer) is a freelance German artist with roots in Cameroon, born in Douala in 1983. She feels a connection to figurative experimental French painting; the painters of Cubism became the guiding principles of her artistic work. Recently, however, she has become more and more interested in abstract painting. She uses not only canvas, but also wood, paper or cardboard as a painting surface - or even everyday domestic objects such as plates, bowls, old lamps or shoes, which she transforms into works of art and thus gives new life to. Through exuberant colorfulness, Dora Gamas attempts to create a crossover between African and European art.
Musician Lia L. Shoshann will accompany the opening of Dora's exhibition. Lia is a songwriter, a kid from the 90s, somewhere between pop songwriting, singer-songwriting and a heart that beats for wild rhythms and loud guitars. Lia prefers to be inspired by strong women*, honest anger, the twilight of travel days and the chaos of interpersonal relationships. Lia has been on stage for over 10 years, with a love for live performance and a mercilessly honest stage presence.
L. is for love, if you listen.
