In the organizer's words:
Scheinriese is Nic Hess's (*1968, lives in Zurich) seventh solo exhibition. In addition to collages on offset cardboard, which appear flat and painted from a distance but reveal relief-like layers on closer inspection, there will also be expansive tape installations on display that enter into a dialog with the wall works. The ambiguity of his works is not only evident in the technique, but also in the content, which plays with irony and political reflection. With his "illusory giants", Hess questions perception, power and illusions, which manifest themselves in art as well as in politics.
