Vieux Farka Touré was born in Niafunké, Mali. His father is the legendary Ali Farka Touré. Over the last nine years, Vieux Farka Touré has released no less than seven critically acclaimed albums. Two of them together with Israeli superstar Idan Raichel and one album with special guests such as Dave Matthews. With each new project, Vieux broadens his horizons, takes on new challenges and cements his reputation as a talented and innovative musician. In his music, he reinterprets the West African sounds that echo in American blues and integrates elements of rock and other African influences.
