As part of TOGETHER UNIQUE, the quartet of female musicians Narine will perform the concert Voices of the female diaspora.

"Narine" is a newly founded women's ensemble that unites the voices and instruments of women from different diaspora communities. Their roots lie in conflict regions where women's musical expression is deeply rooted as a powerful form of resistance.

These musicians have come together in Cologne and interpret folk songs, art songs and their own pieces - in Kurdish, Turkish and Armenian, among others. This music came to Germany through the migration history of their parents, grandparents and also through their own migration experience and tells of shared pain, longing for a homeland, but also universal love stories and hope for a better life.

With harmonious instrumentation and their own arrangements, the musicians Zainab Lax, Şeyda Aktaş, Burçin Keskin and Eylem Külahçi create bridges between the different musical and cultural worlds in which they move and take us on a touching journey.
