Travel Photography Workshop with Bastian Maria

Did you capture beautiful sunsets and breathtaking scenes on your last trip, but are you disappointed with the photos once you get home? Is that majestic big cat just a tiny speck, and does the impressive Alpine panorama look unspectacular?
If you’ve had these or similar experiences and want to take impressive travel photos in the future, this workshop is perfect for you.

Together with experienced travel photographer Bastian Maria, you’ll tackle both theoretical and practical photography challenges in this workshop. You’ll analyze a selection of photos to identify common mistakes and avoid them in the future.

This workshop is open to everyone, regardless of the camera equipment you use—whether you’re a beginner with a smartphone or an advanced photographer with a professional camera. The focus is on the image, not the technology.

Schedule and Content:
2 hours – Travel Photography – Theory

• What defines travel photography?
• Improving image design and composition
• Being in the right place at the right time for the perfect photo
• Seven Tips for Extraordinary and Exciting Travel Photos
• Group image analysis and discussions

2 hours – Travel Photography – Hands-On  

• Group Photography Sessions and Putting What You’ve Learned into Practice
• Tips for travel photography, street photography, lighting, reflections, and symmetry
• How to capture friends and partners in the best light and connect with locals—for portrait shots, for example
• Immediate assistance with questions about specific photographic situations

Please bring:
  
- Camera with a fully charged battery (whether DSLR, point-and-shoot, or cell phone camera)
- 5 photos from your last trip (on a USB drive, SD card, CF card, or hard drive)
- Lots of curiosity and enthusiasm Event details:

• The theory portion will take place in a conference room in the branch’s office area.
• Meet at the Service Point on the ground floor at 12:45 p.m.; from there, we’ll walk together to the seminar room.
