Literary translators from Berlin have written about it.

They met and experimented:
How do you translate a story into plain language?
How does it remain a good story?
How do you keep the impact similar?
How do you keep the tone the same, for example?
Or the pace?

People with learning disabilities have reviewed them:
Are the texts understandable?

On September 22, the translators will read aloud.
In plain language.

For the first time.
For everyone.

September 22 at 5 p.m.

How will the discussions be made accessible?

Dorothea Traupe will host the event.
The texts and discussions are in plain language.
Inga Schiffler will be there as a comprehension assistant.
She helps everyone understand.
Jona Neugebauer draws simple pictures.
That also helps with understanding.

Do you need to register?

Everyone is welcome to attend the workshop discussions.
Participation is free.
No registration is required.

Where do the discussions take place?

The discussions are held at Lettrétage.
It’s a literary venue in Berlin-Mitte.
For example, they host readings and discussions about literature.

Here’s how to get to the STUDIO:

• Walk through the courtyard.
• At the back on the left, there’s a staircase leading to the 1st floor.
  You’ll arrive right at the STUDIO.
• Or you can take the elevator.
  It’s right on the left, just past the entrance to the courtyard.
  Take the elevator to the first floor.
  From there, a balcony walkway leads to the studio.
