French Revolution: Marie Antoinette and her husband, King Louis XVI, have been waiting in the Palace of Versailles for their execution—for 15 years now! Reason enough to grow impatient and simply build their own guillotine. But it doesn’t work quite right yet and accidentally beheads one or two people who come to visit Marie-Antoinette and Louis. On top of that, the people outside are getting on their nerves because they’ve run out of bread. “If they have no bread, let them eat cake!” thinks Marie Antoinette in her aloof and naive way. With biting humor, this black comedy examines social inequality and takes a critical look at today’s political structures.
