#7: From Field to Fork - Where does our food come from?

Host Jascha Sommer cooks and discusses with his guests in a makeshift "kitchen for everyone". Afterwards, the audience is invited to eat and talk.

With Wir müssen reden, the FWT invites you to a series of discussions that sees the theater as a place of social negotiation - between experts and audience, conversation and a shared meal.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, together with köllektiv, we will address the topic of food - and ask where our food actually comes from, who actually produces it and how, and what stages it has already gone through before it reaches our plates.

Jascha Sommer is artistic co-director of the FWT: Freies Werkstatt Theater Köln, curator and performance artist. At the FWT, he develops artistic formats at the interface of theater, performance and media art, opens the house more strongly to urban society and combines discourse events with aesthetic practice.

"We need to talk" sees itself as a response to an increasingly polarized culture of discussion - and as an invitation to productive debate in a collaborative atmosphere.
