Workshop: Kintsugi-Technik

In the organizer's words:

Kintsugi—Beauty from Shards

In Japan, broken ceramics are held in special esteem when they are artfully restored using a complex technique involving urushi lacquer and gold powder. As a symbol of transience and new beginnings, the kintsugi technique is universal and timeless. In this workshop with artist Masami Takeuchi, participants will learn the aesthetics of kintsugi using readily available materials. Please bring your own pieces to restore.

The course is suitable for adults and teens ages 12 and up.
