SOMMERAKADEMIE-Workshop: Yasmin Iriel Frione - 360° movement

In the organizer's words:

July 11–12, 2026
1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. each day

360° Movement is a workshop based on the concept of a three-dimensional body, designed to develop versatility and creative potential. It explores contemporary dance, deep floorwork, and acrobatic principles to expand movement in all spatial directions.

The practice combines technical training with improvisation and partner work, aiming to unlock creativity and refine presence. Participants are invited to challenge habitual patterns, working with weight, tone, extension, and rhythm, while expanding their awareness of space, energy, and decision-making in movement.

Using tools from physical theater, the workshop also explores embodiment and performative states, supporting the transition between exploration and composition. The process fosters strength, clarity, and adaptability in movement.

LEVEL

This workshop is anINTENSIVE—for professional dancers and motivated participants with advanced dance and movement experience.

Are you not a professional dancer but have several years of experience in contemporary dance and would like to deepen your practice, yet are unsure if the level is right for you? Or do you come from a different movement discipline and want to take on this challenge? Here’s a brief overview:

The Intensive requires a basic foundation in contemporary dance, particularly floorwork techniques. Acrobatic elements may also be part of the training in this workshop. Above all, it’s important that you take responsibility for your own body and approach new movements and tasks with awareness. If something is new to you, take it slowly or give yourself a break. Even if you don’t have a background in contemporary dance, the Intensive can be an exciting experience—especially if you already have a solid foundation in movement, preferably from circus arts and acrobatics, are open to new ways of working, and want to develop your own approach to the material.

Still unsure if the level is right for you? Feel free to email us atedu@tanzfaktur.eu—we’ll work with you to see if this intensive is a good fit.
