In the dance project "Liquid Gold", children and young people use dance theater to explore the rights of our planet and the elixir of life, water. Too little and too much, drought and heavy rain. No life without water. But how can we share the planet's water equally with all forms of life? Does water also have rights? How does water feel as a dance? How does a dry riverbed speak? How much power does a thirsty body have?
Accompanied by the experienced dancer, dance teacher and choreographer Marion Amschwand and professional dancers from Of CuriousNature, the children and young people take on the role of liquid gold and appeal not only to the head, but also to the heart. Because in addition to knowledge, compassion and togetherness are urgently needed to create change.
Since 2003, steptext danceproject has been giving young people interested in dance and theater space for development in the performing arts under the label young artists. In regular training sessions and intensive workshops during the school vacations, children and young people are introduced to various contemporary dance styles, techniques and forms of performance by professional artists and teachers and encouraged to test their skills in a protected and shared space of experience.
Regular training sessions, dance projects, vacation programs - the young artists offer is varied and free of charge. The young artists meet every week on the rehearsal stage of steptext dance project in the tower behind the Schwankhalle. Interested parties are always welcome to get a taste of the work and take part in a trial training session. Registration is required at young-artists@steptext.de
