In the organizer's words:
Youssef Maghrebi is an actor, theater educator, and social worker. For many years, he has combined his artistic work with social activism and is particularly committed to empowering children, adolescents, and young adults.
As an actor, he has appeared on camera and on stage in film, television, and theater productions. His work is characterized by authenticity, presence, and the ability to address social issues with humor, depth, and humanity.
In addition to his artistic work, Youssef Maghrebi develops and leads theater education workshops, school projects, and creative educational programs on topics such as self-confidence, body language, democracy education, violence prevention, and shifting perspectives. His projects create spaces where people can find their voice, discover their strengths, and develop new perspectives.
In his solo program “Kopf hoch,” he explores personal experiences, social observations, and questions of identity, belonging, and social cohesion. With humor, self-deprecating wit, and emotional depth, he tells stories that move audiences, inspire reflection, and spark conversations among people.
His work has taken him to schools, youth centers, cultural institutions, and social service organizations. In doing so, he combines the expressive power of theater with educational expertise and a sense of social responsibility.
Youssef Maghrebi embodies an art form that empowers people, builds bridges, and encourages them to tell their own stories.
