ZENDA: Jenseits des Patriarchats – Zur Soziologie des Friedens // PODIUMSDISKUSSION
In the organizer's words:
We cordially invite you to a public panel discussion entitled "Beyond Patriarchy: The Sociology of Peace".
We live in a time of increasing wars, especially in the Global South, for example in Kurdistan, Iran and Afghanistan. Against this background, questions arise about concrete ways out of the conflicts: What solutions are needed, who needs to participate in peace processes and how can social hope for peace be strengthened?
The aim is to develop a sociology of peace - beyond state and geopolitical interests - and to discuss how peace can be created in practice. How do patriarchal power structures influence conflicts and peace processes, and what could a society without male-dominated rule look like?
Another focus is the role of women: They are often particularly affected in wars, but frequently underrepresented in peace processes. Together we want to discuss how peace can be shaped from a social perspective and what relevance the perspectives from Kurdistan, Iran and Afghanistan have in this regard.
