The Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM) and the International Film School Cologne (ifs) are taking part in the nationwide Short Film Day for the twelfth time in collaboration with the Cologne Short Film Festival (KFFK) and are showing current short films by their students in the Filmforum at the Museum Ludwig.
On December 21 - the shortest day of the year - short film will be celebrated throughout Germany for the 12th time in all its diversity, creativity and joy of experimentation. Initiated by the AG Kurzfilm, short films will conquer cinema screens and television programs, galleries and clubs, house facades and living rooms, public spaces and means of transport on this day.
This year's program shows a total of six films by students of the ifs and the KHM, which were put together by Johannes Duncker, the director of the Cologne Short Film Festival (KFFK), to match the theme "In Limbo" of the Short Film Day 2023. The protagonists of the selected short films find themselves in intermediate states, in new and unfamiliar situations, on the move or traveling. They take us on a search for identity and truth between the past and possible futures. After the films, Sandra Riedmair will talk to the directors and teams present.
