With over 2,100 seats, the Freilichtbühne am Roten Tor is one of the largest open-air stages in southern Germany and is owned by the city of Augsburg. For more than 80 years, the Staatstheater Augsburg has always been a guest there from mid-June to the end of July, staging its productions on this unique stage.

The picturesque backdrop in front of the medieval bastion at the Red Gate provides the setting for numerous operas, operettas, concerts and musicals. Enjoy balmy summer nights in the open air and be enchanted by the dazzling costumes, elaborate stage sets and musical fireworks!
